4th of July Fun in Panama City Beach

Spending the day on the beach is a great way to celebrate Independence Day. The sun is shining, you're surrounded by sand and sea—what's not to love? Whether you're enjoying some time with family or hanging out with friends, there are plenty of fun things to do on this beautiful stretch of sand. You can even spend the day on our beautiful beaches soaking up some sun while relaxing in one of the Panama City Beach resorts.

Spend the Day on the Beach

If you’re looking for a beach experience unlike any other, Panama City Beach is the place to be. With pristine white sand and warm blue waters, the beach has something for everyone. But if you want to relax and listen to the waves, try renting an umbrella and a beach hammock for full relaxation. If you prefer some adventure, try Shell Island for paddleboarding or M.B. Miller Pier for swimming and surfing, with lots of beach activities like sand volleyball, beach yoga and sandcastle building. Bringing your furbaby? Try Dog Beach,  located near Russell-Fields Pier where you and your dog can enjoy the sand and surf.

Check out the Summer Concert Series Lineup

Join the City of Panama City Beach for free concerts at Aaron Bessant Park, every Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. from June 8 to August 10. Feel free to bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy the live music! Food and drinks are available from local food vendors at the park and dogs are welcome. On July 5th, the concert series will offer a special treat for guests: fireworks to further celebrate Independence Day – the day after.

Take in the Fireworks

Freedom Rocks fireworks will light up the sky once again, in celebration of our nation’s Independence Day. The fireworks will launch at 8:45 PM on Monday, July 3 from the middle of the Grand Lagoon near the marinas. Watch the fireworks sparkle over the water from multiple businesses offering premium viewing and dining specials, as well as the fireworks cruises that provide a panoramic view of the show over the Grand Lagoon. Free parking is available at Capt. Anderson’s Marina, Treasure Island Marina, and Pirate’s Cove Marinas.

For 4th of July fireworks, Panama City Beach takes the cake. The Star-Spangled Spectacular in Panama City is the biggest fireworks display on the Gulf Coast and is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to set up their beach chairs and encouraged to arrive early to get the best views.
