When vacationing for a week or more in a beach town, we’ve learned that eating out every meal can add up in both cost and calories. Staying in a vacation rental or one of Panama City Beach resorts usually means a well-stocked kitchen giving you the perfect opportunity to make easy home-cooked meals, fresh smoothies to kick-start your day or and a snack for your afternoon beach activities. 

 

Get Some Vitamin D

The sun makes us feel good—that warm feeling you get when you’re stepping out of the air conditioning and into the sunlight is your body thanking you. Research has found that sunshine increases serotonin levels which can help alter your moods. Sun-soaked environments can stimulate positive feelings, improve self-confidence and give you a better attitude about yourself. You’ll get plenty of sun on the beautiful Florida panhandle, just don’t skip the sunscreen!

 

Take a Walk…On the Beach

You’ve come to Panama City Beach to soak up the sun and spend some well needed time breathing in the salt air. You’re on vacation and want to stay in shape, but you don’t want to join the gym and pay expensive gym fees. You don’t need a lot of fancy equipment or even your running shoes to get a good workout in. All you need is the beach!  A walk on the beach isn’t just good for your physical health, but it can give you great mental clarity too!

It’s not always easy to make the right choices when eating out, and it can be even harder when traveling. But it turns out that if you’re looking for healthy choices, ditch the chain restaurants and eat like a local. In Panama City Beach that means eating at one of our great health restaurants like Lotus Cafe & Fluid Lounge, sushi at Shan Kishi, and mae-fresh juice and healthy eating at Jacob Juice. 

 

Rent a Bike

We don't need pavement to explore - all we need is a bike and a destination. Visitors often find that there are few better ways to get an authentic feel for the area than to explore by bike, cruising along many beautiful local state parks and Panama City Beach bike trails, getting a firsthand perspective of the city that they might have missed traveling by car and enjoy the awesome Panama City Beach weather while using this alternative method of transportation.
